See, I think the overly long songs on the album are due to filler rather than just being long. Metal Detector and Spiraling Shape are long, but not because of unnecessary guitar solos like How Can I Sing Like a Girl.
Yeah, I guess it really comes down to how long a song needs to be. "Spiraling Shape" wouldn't really work if they cut it shorter, while I think HCISLAG still would.
