vovatFor those of you following the Saga of Nathan's Car (or, as they say in German, die Nathansautogeschichte), I took it in for service today, and they apparently fixed it. It didn't take anywhere near as long as I was afraid it would, either. So that's a relief. (Now just wait for the light to come on again next week.)
Also today, I finally got a card for the local library in these parts. I'm kind of embarrassed that I waited so long, since I have a degree in Library Science and all, but I just never got around to it until today. I didn't check anything out, but I DID place a hold on Wintersmith, Terry Pratchett's new Tiffany Aching novel.
A few nights ago, I had a dream that I was in college, and Bill Maher told me that I was in danger of being expelled if I had another infraction. I didn't know I'd had ANY infractions, but apparently I'd had eleven, the latest of which involved throwing a paper bag that had held cotton candy on the floor. Since I don't even like cotton candy, I didn't think that could be accurate. Bill believed me when I said I didn't do any of that stuff, but he said it was the janitor who reported it.
I'm pretty sure I had at least one dream last night that I wanted to write about, but all I can remember is one where I got a bunch of Oz stuff in the mail. It would be nice if that one were true, but no such luck.

bethje, Dorothea, and I went out to 99, which recently opened in our area. I had the Cape Cod Seafood Trio, which was a casserole made up of scrod, shrimp, and scallops, all with lobster sauce and bread crumbs. Very tasty, although I liked the shrimp and the scallops more than the fish. I guess I'm more into shellfish than actual fish. We also had the baked ravioli appetizer, and I had a strawberry shortcake sundae for dessert. The appetizer was very good, but the sundae was much less so. The cake was too hard, and I have no idea why, but the flavor actually seemed a bit salty. I remember having that kind of sundae at Friendly's, and the cake there was also hard. I don't know what's up with that. A similar sundae that actually IS really good is the Strawberry Tallcake at Ruby Tuesday. Last time I went there, though, I didn't care that much for my food. Neither did Beth, so we haven't gone back there in some time. I'm sure we'll return eventually, though. But I'm getting off the subject, which is that 99 was a good restaurant.
Has anyone else gotten spam comments on their entries? I got my first unequivocal LJ spam a few days ago. Someone spammed this post a few weeks ago, but that guy at least actually read the post and made it somewhat relevant. But the recent comment was something totally irrelevant about Viagra and Cialis. Is no Internet forum safe from spam? (Really, even looking at it from the spammer's point of view, wouldn't leaving LJ comments be a total waste of time? At least with e-mail spam, they're sending it to a bunch of people, so it's presumably worthwhile if only one dumbass out of the millions of recipients thinks, "Yes, I WOULD like a larger cumshot!" But don't LJ comments have to be made one at a time, or are they some new improvements in Spamming Technology of which I'm not aware?)
