Futurama: Lrrreconcilable Ndndifferences - Since we missed the original airing on Thursday,
bethje and I saw it tonight, and I have to say I liked it. Lrrr having a midlife crisis makes sense for the character, and the ways he acted on it were amusing. The
War of the Worlds recreation was a nice angle as well. It seems that the reason (or at least one reason) Maurice LaMarche became the go-to guy for Orson Welles impressions is because he likes to warm up for voice sessions by reciting
Welles's frozen food commercial outtakes. (Mind you, since he's a regular voice actor on the show, they might well have used him for Welles's voice in this episode even if he hadn't already done it on other shows.)

The writers apparently also managed to incorporate two ideas that I remember being thrown around when the show was first coming out, but that hadn't yet been used: a science fiction show taking place in the year 4000, and
The Simpsons still being on the air.
