Last night, [livejournal.com profile] bethje, Alyssa, and I went to see the Kids in the Hall at the Keswick Theater in Glenside. I'd never been to the Keswick before and was worried about finding it, but it really wasn't that difficult. Driving on Germantown Avenue, with its cobblestones and trolley tracks, is a real pain, though. The show itself was basically the same as the one that I'd seen twice and Beth once in New York, but there were a few subtle differences. The Buddy Cole monologue mentioned Woody's instead of Chelsea, and there were a few references to the Flyers/Canadiens game. Dave Foley said that his uncle had played for the Flyers, but since I know as much about hockey as I do about any other sport (i.e., next to nothing), I have no idea whether this is true. After the show, we waited outside for a little while to see if the Kids would come out, only to eventually discover that they were all still inside. Beth got autographs from and pictures of all five of them, and Scott Thompson recognized her, which is pretty awesome.

I had some trouble finding my way back to the highway, but Alyssa helped me out with that, so she deserves mad props. I don't think you can even imagine how freaked out the prospect of being lost makes me. It's an annoyingly persistent myth that returning to where you exited a highway will let you get back on, when some roads actually have on-ramps and off-ramps in quite different places. But we got back all right, and stopped to eat at Denny's on the way home. I went to bed pretty much immediately upon getting home, but I couldn't stay asleep for as long as I would have liked, so now I'm up and using the computer.

And by the way, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] mikeleffel! Not that I think he reads this or anything.
