The weather has been fluctuating a lot as of late. It was pretty chilly outside today, but it was pretty hot a few days ago. In some ways, fall is the easiest season, since it avoids the scorching heat of summer, the bitter cold of winter, and the annoying allergies of spring. (I've heard of people having fall allergies, but they generally only come in the spring for me. I was sneezing a lot about two hours ago, though, so watch this be the year I get them in the autumn as well.) But it does mean that winter is right around the corner, which is never a good thing.

I had another back-to-college dream last night. I believe both [livejournal.com profile] rockinlibrarian and [livejournal.com profile] punterschlagen appeared in it at one point, in which everyone was eating a meal that seemed to consist primarily of tortilla chips. A few other old classmates also showed up, but none of them said much of anything to me, and most of the people were new. One not-real person who featured quite prominently was a Russian girl who kept taking about how she came to the school. [livejournal.com profile] bethje's cat Wally also showed up. I kept worrying about how I didn't know anybody, and thinking that the semester was going to suck. Aside from that, about all I can remember is having to use the bathroom, and overhearing someone talking about wanting to get incriminating pictures of Sean Hannity.

Last night, Beth and I watched Fright Night, which I hadn't even heard of prior to the last Monster-Mania Convention, at which there was a reunion panel for the film. I didn't love it, but didn't have any problems with it either, which I guess is saying something. Since the characters knew and commented on the fact that the vampire operated exactly the same way they do in the movies, I guess it can sort of be considered a self-aware horror film from well before that genre came into vogue in the nineties. After that, we watched a few Season 10 Simpsons episodes with commentary, and then I went grocery shopping. As I'm sure those of you who have been to all-night grocery stores know, this can be rather annoying in the middle of the night, what with all the carts and pallets blocking the aisles. This was also the second time someone at the store (this time a cashier) commented on the 28-pound cat litter I was buying. I explained that it really didn't last as long as you might think, especially with three cats in the picture.

I feel somewhat obligated to say something else so that this post doesn't end with a sentence about cat litter, but I can't think of anything.
