Miscellaneous Thoughts
Jul. 17th, 2007 09:32 am1. My big toe has started hurting again. After it started to feel better, I started only soaking it and applying the cream once a day. I guess I should go back to doing that twice a day, and see if it heals up again. I really don't want to have to go to the doctor again.
2. As far as frozen food goes, the Hungry-Man Lasagna Bake isn't very good. The Stouffer's macaroni and cheese is decent, though. Maybe I should check and see if that other Shop-Rite still has the pot pies I like. Even more than that, though, I need to learn to cook my own food. The sad thing is that I'd probably be okay with pizza or a cheese sandwich almost every day, but I know variety is the spice of life and all that.
3. I wonder if part of the reason why so many people are willing to dismiss country music out of hand is how so much of what they play on mainstream country radio has lyrics that sound like excerpts from Chicken Soup for the Soul.
4. It's pretty hypocritical of Arnold Schwarzenegger to insist that Spanish-speaking immigrants should learn English when he can barely speak it himself after so many years. I was discussing this with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
bethje at one point, and she suggested that maybe he was just a bad speaker in ANY language. Does anyone know if he's actually well-spoken in German?
5. In another recent conversation with Beth, she asked me why I considered summer to be my favorite season, and I had to admit that it was because it was the farthest away from winter. Summer can be annoying sometimes, but winter is pretty much a hassle in every respect.
6. One of the supermarket magazine headlines about a week ago said that the issue would address how Nicole Richey planned to stay healthy while pregnant. Wait, don't you have to BE healthy before you can STAY that way?
7. When you look at a lot of names, it's almost inevitable that you'll come across a few that look like they'd be pretty embarrassing. With that in mind, I have to wonder why name-changing isn't more common than it is. Is it the cost? Or do people eventually come to regard the embarrassing names as badges of honor?
