Ice Cream Everyday
Jun. 25th, 2007 10:55 pmThis past weekend,
bethje and I watched two movies. The first was Sixteen Candles, continuing our theme of eighties movies that we missed in the actual eighties. It was pretty funny, and I'm sure it was instrumental for launching Gedde Watanabe's long, illustrious career of playing a comic Asian stereotype. The other was Jacob's Ladder, which was interesting. Beth said she heard somewhere (she can't remember where) that it was a movie that didn't really make sense until you saw the end, which I guess is true, but I didn't find the rest of it THAT crazy. Maybe I've just seen enough movies where you don't know what's real and what's not to have become largely desensitized to that kind of thing. Anyway, considering the title, I was trying to keep an eye out for Biblical allusions. The character named Jezebel was a pretty obvious one; and I think his son Gabe (played by an uncredited Macaulay Culkin) was another one, since "Gabe" is probably short for "Gabriel."
Today, I went to Coldstone Creamery for the first time ever. Their ice cream is really good, although I don't think I'll be getting the waffle cup next time. It didn't break up very easily, so I couldn't really eat it with the ice cream. And I really don't know what's up with the singing. I'd definitely go back again, though.
Now I guess I should have some dinner. Yeah, I had dessert first today. What are you going to do about it? :P
