Cursed one, begone!
Apr. 22nd, 2007 04:03 amThe most recent Bullshit! episode was about exorcism, and included footage of people actually trying to drive out demons by coughing into paper towels. There was also a little bit on repressed memories, and I kind of wish they'd said more about that. Unlike other "alternative" medicines and therapies they've covered on the show, exorcism is generally only accepted by members of certain religions. And Penn and Teller have already made it very clear how they feel about religion.
I'm not sure whether Simon Cowell used an exorcist to remove Sanjaya from American Idol, but the fact remains that he's gone now. What, votetheworst.com doesn't have as much power as the teenyboppers who actually take the show seriously? Since Katharine McPhee is no longer there, I don't think we can blame Trent Lott this time. The thing is, while Sanjaya has definitely had some lousy performances, I actually think he was the best on Latin Week.
revme recently directed me (well, readers of his journal; not me in particular {g}) to these Chick Tract dissections. While I don't think it's totally necessary to dissect anything so obviously stupid, they're still funny, and definitely worth a look.
And, as a final note, I'll mention that the strawberry pancakes from Bob Evans were a lot better than the blueberry pancakes from Denny's. I think part of it is just that Bob Evans has better pancakes, but they also used fresh fruit instead of pie filling. I'm not sure if blueberries were out of season at the time, or Denny's is just cheap.
