Sleep the Clock Around
Dec. 10th, 2006 10:48 amI slept for what seemed to be a long time last night, but according to the clock, it really wasn't. It wasn't even 11 when I went to bed, and I thought I might just take a nap, but I'm really not good with naps. It was refreshing to go to sleep without getting ready first. (Well, okay, I did change into pajamas, but not liking to sleep in regular pants is a quirk of mine.) The fact that both going to bed and getting up involve a certain amount of Getting Ready is one reason why both irritate me (although the latter is much worse than the former). Few things are more annoying than preparation.
The first time I woke up, I decided I would write about the dream I'd just had. Then I went back to sleep and forgot about that dream. I can, however, tell you about the dreams I had AFTER that. In one, I was trying to use a vending machine at my old college. I believe the machine was in Esch Hall, although I'm sure it was very different from the real Esch Hall. I do remember that dorm (where I stayed during summer classes) having a vending area very similar to the one in my dream, though. I couldn't find my school ID card, so I tried using a library card, and it didn't work. When I looked through my wallet, I noticed that it was overstuffed, like George's in that one Seinfeld episode (and yes, I did make that connection in the dream itself). Later, I was eating dinner rolls, and Captain Salt was sitting at a nearby table. There was also a dream where I woke up in my mom's house, and realized that wasn't where I went to sleep, so then I woke up again. I think I woke up in yet another dream, rather than reality, but it satisfied me for the time being.
It was really cold yesterday, and I doubt it's getting any warmer anytime soon. Have I mentioned before how much I hate cold weather? I'm sure I have, but it bears repeating. As I recently told
bethje and LJ-commented to
lozenger8, if I were really rich, I'd buy one house in the Northern Hemisphere and one in the Southern, and migrate between them like a bird.
Here's a meme that I got from

By the way, was LJ recently down for anyone else, or was I the only lucky one who kept getting database errors?
