Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] bethje! Today, she turns 27. That means that, until Saturday, she'll be only one year younger than me! (Yeah, I know it doesn't really work that way, but it looks like it on paper.)

I was thinking of writing something last night about how I was bothered by Rudy Giuliani's wanting to run for President, but I figured I should find out more about the guy first. So I read the Wikipedia article, and, well, talk about painting a mixed picture of someone. It put me in mind of Homer Simpson's exchange with the dealer in forbidden objects and frozen yogurt. "The crime rate went down while he was Mayor." "That's good!" "But this might not have been entirely his doing, and he was known to support the police in possible cases of brutality." "That's bad." "But he cracked down on organized crime." "That's good!" "He also favored censoring the art exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum." "That's bad." "But he also visited injured and widowed people after the World Trade Center attacks." "That's good!" "And then he used his fame from his handling of the aftermath to stump for Bush and support his agenda." "That's bad."

Overall, I can't say I like the man very much, but other people seem to, so I'm hoping he doesn't get the Republican nomination. And I think I remember reading about Hillary Clinton trying to censor something, so if they both won their respective party nominations, we'd have a choice between TWO pro-censorship New Yorkers.

I had a dream last night that I was living in my old college dorm, but I was bothered by the fact that no one I knew was there anymore. Then there was a part where I was talking to a security guard about a geography internship in France.
