Another day older and deeper in debt

I've been working a lot recently, and I'm not sure it's really getting me much of anywhere. I still sort of have the childish mentality that summer means I should have time off, but it's not exactly working out that way. Even if I'm not actually doing anything vacation-like during the summer, though, it's still a good time of year. It's all about convenience, really. It's a time when I can leave the house without having to put on a coat, and I can drive without worrying about running into snow and ice. It's a shame it's always over so quickly. I think I would like to go to at least one amusement park during the season.

So, what have I been doing besides working and worrying, you ask? No, you probably DON'T ask, but I'm going to tell you anyway. For one thing, I've been sorting through old clothes. I've found that I have an overabudance of sweatshirts. People keep giving them to me for gifts, and they don't wear out very quickly, so I've ended up with a lot more than I really have room for. I put some of them in the donation box, but I'm reluctant to get rid of too many. As slowly as it's going, however, I eventually want to reach the point where there's actually a place for all my stuff, so straightening my room will no longer be such a chore. Unfortunately, trying to get to that point IS a chore, so I keep putting it off (sometimes for valid reasons and sometimes not).

I ordered a few Oz books today, including the new Sherwood Smith one that came out this past week. Between those, the March Laumer texts I still have to read, and the copy of Adventures in Oz I should be getting soon, I currently have no shortage of Oz stuff to read. Of course, Oz books tend to be short, so that might not be the case for too much longer. In case you haven't noticed, I've really been on an Oz kick as of late. I really should get back to writing my own stories, but between work and trying to catch up with Internet stuff, there never seems to be enough time. I do have an idea for a story about a civil war in Ev pretty well mapped out, though, so maybe I'll write that one soon.

I'm trying to get the Oz wiki into working order before announcing its existence on my Oz mailing lists. I don't have that much experience in such matters, though. I mean, I've edited wiki entries before, but I can never remember the codes to use. I'm sure I'll be able to hunt them up myself at some point, but if anyone knows more about that kind of thing, some help might be nice.

Oh, and I saw on a billboard in Philadelphia that they're bringing back the Volkswagen Rabbit. I remember liking the Rabbit when I was a kid, probably mostly because it was the only car I knew of that had the name of a character from the Winnie-the-Pooh books. {g}
