Today is Independence Day. I remember when I was really young, I used to think that the United States was physically attached to England before the Revolution. This was probably around the same period that I had trouble grasping that the world was round. I knew it was, but there was a time when I thought the majority of the Earth's surface was empty, and another time when I believed we were all INSIDE the Earth. I don't know that I thought either of those things for very long, but I do remember thinking them.
I doubt I'll be doing anything special today. I have to get up early tomorrow for work, which kind of puts the kibosh on the idea of going to see fireworks or whatever. Maybe I'll be able to catch up on my friends page, if I don't keep getting distracted by stuff like articles about old McDonald's characters. I hadn't heard of Sid and Marty Krofft's lawsuit. And apparently Grimace used to be evil and have a bunch of arms. Maybe that explains why he wanted to eat me back in a nightmare I had when I was a kid. He also has an Uncle O'Grimacey, who was once used to advertise Shamrock Shakes.
Last night, I went with
bethje and Dorothea to Dunkin' Donuts, where we were served by a lady who kept getting our order wrong. I tried the last of the smoothies, which was the wild berry variety. It might be my favorite of the three, but I'm not sure. Today, I tried to use my windshield repair kit, but the directions seemed to bear little resemblance to anything I could actually do with the parts. The suction cup was supposed to stick to the windshield, but I must have done something wrong, because it stuck about as well as two north magnetic poles. I also lost the cap from the syringe. I have the whole mess wrapped up in a towel in my trunk, but I tend to think I'm going to have to throw it out and get a new one, and then get someone else to help me with it. When will I learn that I am incapable of doing anything on my own?
Thanks to
little_octagon, here are the 50 worst video game titles. I remember when Nintendo Power was pimping Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom. I never played it, but it sounded kind of fun.

Oh, and happy belated birthday to
