So, today (or, more accurately, yesterday), I went to Philadelphia to see a free They Might Be Giants concert. I took the train into the city, met [livejournal.com profile] bethje and her cousin Dorothea there, and we all took a cab to Penn's Landing. Once there, we saw none other than John Flansburgh himself giving out free orange novelty foam hands. He was wearing a Lebowski Fest T-shirt, with "I can get you a toe" on the front. Unfortunately, he didn't keep it on for the actual concert.

After getting our foam hands, we went to the merchandise booth to buy some stuff. I got a No! shirt and a TMBG bumper sticker. I'm not sure whether I'm actually going to put it on my car bumper, which currently remains unadorned.

This is a long-distance dedication to the ladies )

After a while, the security guards shooed everyone out of the Grand Plaza, and we went to Chili's for dinner. I had the Tomato Basil Chicken Pasta, which was good (as usual), but which I was unable to finish. I'll probably have the leftovers for breakfast tomorrow.

So, why does AIM auto-login when you specifically tell it NOT to auto-login? One of the Great Mysteries, I guess.

I guess I won't be eating those Chili's leftovers after all. I forgot to put them in the refrigerator last night, so they're probably no good anymore. I think I'm under some kind of curse when it comes to leftovers. Either that, or I'm just a dumbass. I had pizza for breakfast, though, so it wasn't a total loss (although the money I paid for the Chili's food was largely a loss).

My ear seems to be getting worse, unfortunately. I guess it wasn't just filled with water after all. I just hope it heals soon.

As I mentioned in my last post, I finished Phyllis Ann Karr's The Hollyhock Dolls in Oz the other day on the train, and I have a few things to say about it.

Another Oz book review, which would probably bore most of you )

But there's more to this post than just Oz. For instance, there's a survey and a quiz result )
