Amount of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince read: 13 chapters (278 pages)

Last night, [livejournal.com profile] bethje and I watched Friday the 13th, Part 2 (she had earlier taped the first four of these movies when they came on TV, but we hadn't started watching them until recently). It was all right, and probably better than the first one (although I'm sure Betsy Palmer wouldn't agree). But how come Jason was a boy living at the bottom of the lake in the first one, and a full-grown man living in the woods in the second part, even though apparently only five years had passed between them? Hello, continuity? Oh, well.

You know, I really should have included "oh, well" in the list of words and phrases I use a lot. Oh, well. {g}

It was cool that last night's Family Guy included a Neverending Story parody. I remember that they did a Narnia joke pretty early on, which impressed me. You don't see parodies of such things in that many other shows. The Asian Trix commercial was also pretty funny. The bit with Stewie's overloaded diaper went a bit too far, though, I think. It's impressive that they can do a Neverending Story reference and a low-brow poop joke in the same episode, though. The show operates on so many levels. {g}

Yesterday, I tried one of those Bold Breezes from Baskin-Robbins. They come with and without frozen yogurt (mine included the yogurt). It was quite tasty. And while I'm on the subject of food, I had the Pizza Hut lunch buffet this morning, but I wasn't able to eat as much as I usually am.

Earlier today, I saw a car with a "Don't be fooled by my car, my real treasure is in Heaven!" bumper sticker making an illegal turn. I guess their real green light was in Heaven, too.

And with that awful joke, I end this post.

I haven't read any more of the new Harry Potter book since my last post. I have, however, seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I liked it more than I thought I would. I mean, I didn't expect it to be BAD, but I kind of thought it was just going to be the same thing I'd already seen multiple times in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Thankfully, Tim Burton managed to do a completely different take on the same story.

Some spoilers within )

So, yeah. I'd definitely recommend the film, if you haven't seen it yet. And I probably should read the book; but then, there are a lot of books I should read, and I'm still in the middle of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince now.
