We hold these truths to be self-evident
Jul. 4th, 2005 08:47 pmYesterday,
bethje and I went to Borders, only to find out that they're no longer taking pre-orders for the new Harry Potter book. (Well, technically, they are, but it's more expensive now, and they can't guarantee you'll actually get a copy on the release date, which kind of defeats the purpose.) So that sucks. Later, we went to Atlantic City with Beth's uncle Harry and cousin Marji. While there, we had an overpriced portrait-style picture taken in one of those booths. It didn't turn out all that well.
A dream of mine last night involved multiple escalators (probably inspired by the ones at the Showboat and Taj Mahal), the Ben Folds Five song "One Angry Dwarf And 200 Solemn Faces," Kelly Hogan, Cracker, and big hot dogs. (I wonder if there was any Freudian symbolism in that last item. {g})
Happy Independence Day to those of the American persuasion. Beth's Uncle John cooked hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill this evening, so we ate those, and then roasted some marshmallows. We're probably not going to bother seeing fireworks, but we haven't decided for sure yet.
