Jun. 13th, 2005 03:21 pmI generally like the Biblical specials on the History Channel, but those reenactments look kind of ridiculous sometimes. One of my favorites was from the special on Joseph (the New Testament one) shown around Easter, where there was a scene of him trying to decide whether or not to stone his wife.
Speaking of the Bible, Harold Camping has seriously suggested that Noah's Flood was caused when "God put the earth on a path so that it would pass through a great rain cloud in deep space." That actually reminds me of an idea I came up with when I was in elementary school. I believe I called it the Floating Ocean Nebula, and it was used by celestial giants as a swimming pool. I guess that's the kind of thing you come up with when you've read a fair number of kids' mythology and astronomy books.
Yesterday, I went out with
bethje and her Uncle John to eat at Charlie Brown's Steakhouse. I had the parmesan-crusted chicken, which was very good, if a bit overwhelming after a little while. Not so great were the seasoned fries and green beans, but you can't win 'em all. For dessert, I had banana pudding.
Beth and I watched Godfather 2 last night. I don't know that I'd agree it was better than the first, like the critics always say, but it was still a good movie.
