The two teams in the Superbowl are the Eagles and the Patriots. Tell me that was coincidence, and not some kind of jingoistic conspiracy. No matter who wins, it'll be a team with a patriotic name!

As you probably know, I live in the Philadelphia area, and I've been hearing WAY too much talk about the Eagles. Bakeries making cakes with green and white icing and a kid being named Chad Lewis are suddenly headline news. Then you'll hear about Philadelphians spending shitloads of money to go down to Jacksonville and watch the game. Now that I think about it, I'm saving a lot of money by not being a football fan, aren't I? I wonder how much longer I'll have to hear about the Eagles. Probably longer if they win, right? I guess sports-loving Philadelphians are being distracted from the fact that, if Bush's latest Evil Plot passes, they won't be getting any social security, but instead will have the government dole out their own money to them, IF they have any by the time they retire. There's a lot that I hate about the President, but his total lack of concern for anyone who isn't as rich as he is might be at the top. Well, except possibly his homophobia. Or his sending American troops to die for his own personal vendetta. I guess it's hard to decide what's at the top, but there seems to a common theme running through all this stuff, i.e., the fact that he seems to only care about his rich buddies. The rest of the country is only there to serve as cannon fodder, apparently.

I kind of got off the track there, didn't I? I'm not going to be watching the Superbowl, both because I'll be at work, and because I don't care. I will be watching tonight's Simpsons episode, though, so expect a review of that. I hope it's better than the last Simpsons Superbowl tie-in.
