Writer's Block: Say cheese

[Error: unknown template qotd]
I really don't care. I don't much like posing for pictures (one reason for that being that I am incapable of smiling on cue), and I think I usually come out not looking too well, but those generally aren't the fault of the person taking the picture. I think some people are way too self-conscious about the pictures of themselves they'll allow online, but maybe they're cannier than I am about such things. I'll admit I'm not the best judge of my own appearance.

Haha, when I saw this was the writer's block thingy I almost answered it, not to actually answer it, but because when I was at the grocery store yesterday-- or the day before, or whenever it was-- the lady behind the deli counter was in the middle of a long rant about how some random guy on the street took her picture and how she did or wanted to scream at him to delete it/get rid of the film/whatever that particular camera did and how is it even LEGAL to take pictures of people you don't know? which it IS, because, like, if you're out as a tourist somewhere it's not like you can tell all the random strangers in your shot to move out of the way so you can get a picture or whatever... anyway, I just thought of her when I saw that, and wondered if she has a livejournal and if she was the one who suggested that prompt (though probably not, since probably people's suggestions are on a long waiting list or something).

I love taking photos when I'm out and about, so I'm one of those defenders of photographic freedom: If you don't want your picture taken, don't go outside! Having said that, I can certainly understand how people could get upset by it, especially since some really great looking people think they're ugly. Back when I was doing amateur model photography, it was hard to find models because the beautiful women around here all hated their looks. (That wasn't so much of a problem with the men -- go figure.)
