Several years ago we hauled some old Civil Defense cases up from the basement of the soon to be torn down fire station, and discovered a bulk package of hard candy in one of them. Still perfectly good, forty years later. (Tasted delicious, by the way.) Wouldn't it be wild if the Ark turned out to be full of thousands year old manna, still edible? (I always pictured it looking like cotton candy.)
