My cousin just posted on Facebook complaining about "give someone a car for Christmas" commercials, so maybe you're just not watching the right shows this year.
But as someone who's been just barely making ends meet for 5 years now, let them still advertise their overpriced gizmos and such-- it offends me less than commercials that are like "Money is tight, so instead of buying this really overpriced item you don't need, buy stuff you don't need for 30% off!"
Because, those of us trying to put food on the table know, IF YOU DON'T NEED SOMETHING, DON'T BUY IT.
