Maybe it's just me, but a lot of the later Oz authors seem to forget that Baum's Dorothy can have a bit of a temper sometimes. So I try to bring that side of her out in certain scenes of my stories.

Yeah, it's definitely a character trait that I think is downplayed by some authors.

Thanks for reminding me, I'd rather forgotten that myself -- despite the infamous Lion slap incident. When I start working on my story I'm not only going to reread the Baum books, but I'm going to lean on all of you for advice!
