The CD Player was good for analog playback on older computers (if the drive light was steady, you were getting analog playback - if it flashed, t'was digital), as I don't think media apps like Winamp or WMP could do analog playback. Digital playback (basically the processor and sound card interpreting the disc instead of the drive itself) took a lot of horsepower and the quality difference was barely discernible, so I used that old CD Player a lot. Modern machines don't really need it though (and I have a hunch many drives don't support analog playback, esp. ones without headphone plugs and play/pause keys below the tray).

Well, now I have enough hard drive space that I can just rip a CD to my computer when I want to listen to it, so it's not really an issue. I just kind of wondered why they stopped including it.

I can't put my finger on it. She's just... I don't know. She's so obnoxious. Maybe she reminds me of someone I hate and it's subconscious.
